Heideman Associates, Inc., is seeking an entry-level mechanical engineer to join our team.   For more information, please submit your resume using the contact button below.

Franklin Drain Services, Inc., is a 24/7/365 work environment focused on meeting commercial and residential customer needs.  Hours of work will vary depending on scheduled preventative maintenance and daily calls requesting service.  After-hours work will be required.  There is a rotating “on-call” schedule depending on the number of service representatives available.

Prior experience working as a sewer & drain cleaner is desired.  Training on the specific aspects of sewer & drain cleaning may be provided for individuals that are mechanically inclined with good problem-solving skills.

Service representatives interface directly with customers, vendors, and peers.  It is imperative that the service representative have excellent interpersonal as well as technical skills, a professional appearance, and good communication skills.  Many aspects of the work require competency with laptops, iPads, and iPhones as well as the technology used to locate/repair problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean & inspect any sanitary/storm sewer lines (commercial, industrial, residential) with various types of equipment. 
  • Prepare and keep records of actions taken, including maintenance and repair work.        Record operational or environmental data.
  • Maintain and clean equipment or facilities. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold a Class B CDL with tanker and air brake endorsements.
  • Have a clear driving record.
  • Must be 21 years old in accordance with insurance requirements.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Must be able to:
    • Work flexible hours 24 / 7 / 365 (including overtime and after-hours work).
    • Lift 50-100 pounds.
    • Climb ladders as tall as 30 feet with 50 pounds (or more).
    • Work outside, as well as inside, regardless of seasonal temperature variations.

Service representatives are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Plumbers’ & Pipefitters’ Local 562 and Sewer Cleaning Contractors.  Placement and starting wage will be based on related experience. Individuals with no experience are considered Probationary Helpers from 1-12 months at a starting rate of $16.45 per hour.  As experience increases, progression through the classifications increases the wage rate until reaching the Mechanic level (60+ months) currently paid $29.90 per hour.   Fringe benefits include vacation and holidays, health & welfare, and supplemental pension paid by the employer.
